Her 16-plus years in the world of non-profits and social entrepreneurship provide a rock-solid foundation of experience that translates into innovative solutions grounded in reality and fueled by vision.

Lauri Alpern is a partner in ROI Ventures. Lauri brings extensive experience developing results-oriented strategic plans for a variety of non-profit organizations and institutions. Her unique expertise lies in defining organizations in order to expand their social missions through earned-income strategies and social purpose business ventures.

Rachel Newton Bellow

Rachel Newton Bellow is a partner in ROI Ventures. Her unique experience in both the commercial and nonprofit sectors, and in forging innovative connections between the two, offers unique value to ROI Ventures’ clients, projects, and investments. Rachel’s path to ROI has been one guided by a passion for the marriage of money and meaning. She is comfortable at high altitudes, where vision and strategy are formed, as well as on the ground where the ‘proof of concept’ is won or lost.

David Brown

David Brown is a principal of ROI Ventures, LLC. David brings over twenty years of experience helping businesses thrive and grow. An experienced transactional lawyer, David serves as a legal and business counselor in a wide range of matters. He advises closely held businesses in connection with their everyday legal and business issues, including the sale and acquisition of assets, private placement of debt and equity, and tax and entity structure.

Nancy Denney Essex

Nancy Essex serves as creative director for ROI Ventures. She has more than twenty years of high-level experience in the development of visually compelling and strategically positioned design that connects clients with their customers. Nancy excels at synthesizing complex issues and translating them into well-integrated, audience-targeted visual messages.

Mason Payne

Mason Payne serves as a program director for ROI Ventures. With a concentrated focus on programs that benefit specific issue areas like protecting the environment, Mason brings his diverse skills to play for our clients. His program management goal is to build solid business foundations while nurturing the innovative heart of the organizations that drive them.

Kitty Rothschild

Kitty Rothschild serves as managing partner for ROI Ventures. In addition to leading the day-to-day operations of ROI, Kitty has managerial oversight for all projects under the ROI asterisk, employing her extensive creative, fund raising and management skills. Her resourcefuness, communication skills and ability to maintain the integrity of creative concepts while keeping a keen eye on the cost realities of her clients help to raise the bar on every project in which she participates.
